University applications can be challenging but don't have to be; with over 14 years of experience in the educational management industry, I am here to help you navigate the confusing process and maximise for the most optimal outcome. After graduating from Canada, I was the sole University Representative in the region to recruit students from India, Bangladesh and Nepal for 9 years - hence I have intricate knowledge from an admissions decision making perspective.
Most recently, I led the University Counseling function at a prominent IB School in Bengaluru, where I counselled and worked with approximately 300+ students in IB Grade 11 and 12 on applications to UK, USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and India. Working closely together with the students, we successfully attained placements at targeted schools based on individual interests, such as CalTech, Princeton, Cornell, Brown, Columbia, U Penn, U Chicago, Georgia Tech, Carnegie Mellon, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Rice, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UT Austin, Michigan Ann Arbor, London School of Economics, Imperial College London, Hong Kong University etc.
Academic Courses - Taking solid academic courses at the appropriate level of challenge
Extracurriculars & Sports - Engaging fully in extracurricular activities, sports, and/or community service. Colleges prefer to see a sustained commitment to extracurricular activities.
Profile building - Start early! Direct preparation for the college process (which begins in Grade 11) however profile building especially for US universities starts from 8th/9th grade.
Summer experiences - To broaden their exposure, dtudents involved in sports or the arts may want to consider summer experiences to enhance skills and explore the depth of their interest, and to consider what role these activities might play in their choice of college later on.
